Pink Ribbon Resource Center, Inc. was opened in January 2020 and is dedicated to serving breast cancer patients from the time of their diagnosis and beyond through education, products, and support. We are a nationally accredited facility with a board certified fitter on staff. At Pink Ribbon Resource Center, we want women to experience a warm welcome into our “specialty boutique”, and we always want you to feel safe and comfortable within the shop.
Kimberly Twine, CMF
“Kim” previously worked in various newsrooms around the Gulf South. Then in 2006 while living in Florida, she decided to volunteer with a local mastectomy shop.
“It seemed like a good thing to do, given my own mother is a breast cancer survivor.” Soon Kim realized this was her passion; helping breast cancer patients regain their sense of normalcy was so incredibly rewarding to her.
In 2013, Kim earned Certification as a Mastectomy Fitter through Board of Certification International (BOCUSA) and began an independent mastectomy boutique in Maryland. But as it can sometimes do, life threw her a few bumps and she eventually moved back home with family, settling in Currituck County, N.C. She returned to work a brief stint in a local newsroom which Kim was very thankful for, and knew it would ultimately allow her to financially see her dream come true.
And that is how Pink Ribbon Resource Center, Inc. came about. Kim enjoys gardening, cooking up new recipes in the kitchen and spending time with family. She also loves daily walks with her Scottish Terrier, Grace. Kim is a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and serves on two committees there. She is also currently a board member with Currituck YMCA. One of Kim’s favorite life lessons: Never give up on your dreams, and dream them BIG!
